SankerIP meets with Science Tokyo in Japan

David Sanker posing together with Professor Oshima and colleagues.

Meet Professor Oshima, who is Vice President at the Institute of Science Tokyo.

Prof. Oshima is networking with a variety of organizations throughout the world. He is building the infrastructure to convert the innovation of researchers at Science Tokyo into viable startup businesses.

I met Prof. Oshima and his assistant Asako Baba at the AUTM conference in Washington DC earlier this year, and later in Silicon Valley.

This time I flew to Tokyo to visit the Science Tokyo campus and discuss the vision: identify the innovation most likely to lead to successful businesses, secure IP for that innovation, and simultaneously identify business entrepreneurs to be partners.

In the photos are me, Prof. Oshima, his assistant Asako Baba, my colleague Akiko Araki (formerly at Morgan Lewis in Tokyo and fellow Berkeley Alum), and Akiko’s new associate Takashima Tamami.

In an interesting coincidence, the SankerIP logo and the Science Tokyo logo are very similar.
